Ensure you are on your home PC or laptop and not accessing the Zoom meeting through Citrix. Click on the link you have been sent – follow the onscreen instructions (wait until prompted and then click ‘run’ to launch the zoom app – this may be slightly different depending on what web browser you use).
Alternatively, if you already have the Zoom app installed, instead of clicking on the link you can open the zoom app, click on join a meeting, enter the meeting ID then click on join – continue with next steps as below.
Click on Join with Video
I recommend testing your speaker and microphone if you haven’t done this before or haven’t used Zoom for a while.
When you are happy your audio and video are working, click on join with computer audio or if you need to join via phone click on phone call, dial the number provided and enter the meeting and participant IDs when prompted
To join a Zoom meeting – on android device/iphone
(Note the following screenshots were taken on a Samsung phone so may look a little different on other devices)
If you have the email on your phone/device tap on the link to launch the zoom app and then follow the prompts
If you don’t have the email/link on your phone…
Open the zoom app
Tap on join > enter the meeting ID > tap join meeting
The meeting ID will have been included in the outlook invitation (it’s also the 9 digits at the end of the hyperlink)
You will then see the video preview (unless you have previously de-selected this option), tap Join with video
Next, tap on Call via device audio/call using internet audio You can choose to dial in however calling charges will apply if using this method – if you select dial in, all the required information for doing this will be provided on the next screen that appears.
Choose call via device audio (or you can call in on the phone – the numbers are automatically provided in the meeting invitation)
